Art & Culture

Pompei Scavi  capri

Art and culture are in every corner of the city, but we’d like to suggest a few starting points, such as the PAN, which hosts major contemporary art exhibitions, or the National Archaeological Museum.

If you are a history lover you cannot miss a trip to the noumerous archeological sites around Naples such as the popular Pompeii and Hercolaneum ruins. We are sure you will be fascinated by their history and breathtaking establishments. On the other hand, if you want to lose yourself discovering new places in the surrounding areas, you must take a look at excursions to the main islands: Capri, Ischia and Procida. With their amazing unforgettable landscapes, they will be forever in your hearts. If you are looking for something a little different, we recommend the tour of the art stations of Metro line 1; each station has its own character, colours and theme. metropolitana via toledo.

The Bourbon Tunnel

The Bourbon Tunnel in Naples is a complex system of underground tunnels built in the 19th century during the reign of Ferdinand II of Bourbon. This tunnel served as an escape route for the royal family in case of emergencies, connecting the Royal Palace to the military area of Naples. During World War II, the Bourbon Tunnel in Naples played a significant role as an air-raid shelter. Its underground structure and capacity to accommodate a large number of people made it a safe haven during air raids. The local population sought refuge in the tunnels, providing protection against aerial attacks and contributing to the safety of the community during a time of great danger.
Today, it is open to the public and offers guided tours, allowing visitors to explore the history and architecture of this ancient underground passage.
